The Issues

Despite strong voter approval of the Dallas HERO amendments in November 2024, the City has yet to fully carry them out. Key provisions—such as the required increase of police salaries—remain unimplemented. This delay undermines both the will of voters and the integrity of the City Charter. Dallas must act now to uphold the law and honor the reforms its residents demanded.

  • Slow Police Response Times – 11.4-minutes to respond to shootings or stabbings; 107 minutes for other deadly calls
  • Rapidly Depleting Police Force – From 2013 to 2022, the Dallas Police Department has shrunk by 12.5%; 800 sworn
officers are eligible for retirement and could quit at any moment
  • Rampant Homelessness – There are over 4,000 homeless in the city of Dallas at any given time; contributing to
    increases in crime

Fundraise for legal battle with city

Dallas HERO is committed to ensuring that the will of Dallas voters is respected and enforced.

Our immediate goal is to hold the City of Dallas accountable for fully implementing the charter amendments approved in November 2024. To achieve this, we are raising funds to pursue legal action compelling compliance with the new charter requirements—including the mandated increases to public safety pay and other reforms designed to improve transparency and accountability in city government. If successful, legal expenses will be refunded to Dallas HERO per Prop S.
